# Chris Shubat

*Contemporary painter | Painting | Based in Toronto, ON, Canada*

## Artist Statement

Chris Shubat (b. 1995), Toronto, ON, Canada

Chris Shubat is a self-taught outsider artist whose work explores the tension between psychological struggle, recover and social commentary. Working primarily with airbrush, he creates fragmented montages and layered compositions that juxtapose violence, beauty, chaos, and tranquility.

Drawing from personal experience, Shubat uses imagery to explore memory, intrusive thought, emotional fluctuation, and resilience. His polished, airbrushed surfaces reference contemporary visual culture while contrasting its manufactured beauty with the complexity of inner experience.

Shubat has exhibited in Toronto, Montreal, Ibiza, and Long Beach, California.
