As a first-generation American of mixed heritage, growing up in Iowa deeply shaped who he is today. Through his work, he seeks to make sense of this ever changing landscape of culture, place, and the untouchable surreal. His visual style is influenced by early 3D graphics, 90's cartoons, and surrealist artists of past and present. His work is heavily grounded in a playful depiction of form creating abstracted objects with loose flowing gestures. It is through this methodology; he engages the viewer with curious surrealist beauty. ## About Christian D'Cruz is a mixed media artist raised and based out of Iowa. Christian holds an associates in Fine arts and a BFA of Graphic Design out of Iowa State University. Christian is a first generation American with his Mother from Dominican Republic and his father from India. He has displayed his work at highly notable art festivals such as The Des Moines Arts festival and the Bayou City Arts festival. He has also participated in group exhibitions around Iowa at Iowa State University, the Heritage Gallery in Des Moines Iowa, and the Ankeny Arts Center.
