## Artist Statement

I pride myself in the diversity of my skillset. I think its incredibly important to be a well-rounded individual, and it offers me valuable insight into neighboring communities as well as an immense respect for other people and their artistic discipline. My work is rooted in a passionate curiosity for technology, design, and traditional art, and my Afro-Jamaican heritage stands at the forefront of that curiosity. It is inspired primarily by the surrealist nature of shows like Atlanta and Adventure Time and sandbox games like Minecraft. I often illustrate subjects with awkward proportions and poses to evoke a feeling of underlying unease, and they are typically placed against liminal and abstract spaces to further compound on these feelings-- that theres something missing or simply not right about this picture.

## Biography

Dominic Bloomfield is an Afro-Caribbean multidisciplinary artist from Mandeville, Jamaica that specializes in acrylic canvas paintings and illustrations, as well as graphic design. His work offers vibrant colors and warped anatomy and perspective against liminal and abstract backgrounds, which communicates a sense of playfulness, with a grace of unease, that leaves the viewer filling in the pieces with their own experiences.
