## Artist Statement

My work begins with what I see every day in Baliwag: the quiet, the overlooked, the ordinary moments that carry weight.

Through on-the-spot painting, poster making, and mixed media, I document life as it happens. Competitions like RFOT, DFOT, ICO & Lety Cruz, and ACTO taught me to work under pressure, but more than winning, they pushed me to observe closely and translate experience into image.

My three recent works are connected by time and change.

"Cherish Moment" holds a pause. It’s about noticing small scenes before they pass. The piece came from watching how fast days move in school and at home. I wanted to frame a feeling, not just a place.

"Whitey and Ginger" looks at companionship and difference. Two subjects, two colors, sharing one space. Growing up around animals and people with different temperaments showed me how contrast can live without conflict.

"The Stunning Life of a Butterfly" is about transition. From contest nerves to late-night sketching, I learned that growth is messy before it becomes clear. The butterfly isn’t just beauty at the end. The work is about the whole cycle.

Together, these pieces map where I am now: a young artist from Bulacan learning through local festivals, regional stages, and international calls. I use painting, comiks, and eco-art to ask how we pay attention, how we coexist, and how we change.

I don’t aim to make grand statements. I paint to keep a record. Of a moment worth cherishing, of two lives side by side, of a change in progress. That’s the work, and that’s the practice I’m building.
