Exploring memory, dreams & the psyche. | New Media, Digital Art, Installation, Painting, Collage | Based in Toronto, ON, Canada* ## Artist Statement "I am interested in reclaiming technology as a site of joy, wonder, and human connection." - Kezleigh My work explores memory, dreams, perception, and the complexity of the human psyche. I am interested in how emotion, time, and the subconscious shape the way we experience ourselves and the world. I work from the belief that something beneath conscious thought is always processing our lived experience. I discovered I was autistic at 27, around the same time I began making art professionally. Looking back, it explained why colours, textures, patterns, and shapes have always felt more intuitive than words or social cues. Art became a way of understanding emotions and experiences that I couldn't always express through language. Using custom digital paintbrushes, UV-laser printed ink, laser cutting, and acrylic glass, I transform digital processes into tactile works that exist beyond the screen. At a time when AI and technology dominate contemporary life, I am interested in reclaiming digital tools as a source of joy, wonder, and human connection. Rather than creating illustrations, I create works that have their own presence, inviting viewers to slow down, reflect, and bring their own memories and emotions to the experience. My hope is that each piece encourages curiosity, emotional connection, and the understanding that there are many valid ways of perceiving and making sense of the world. ## Biography Kezleigh is a Toronto-based new media artist whose practice explores memory, dreams, and the subconscious. Through digitally created works that are UV-laser printed onto acrylic glass and laser cut into sculptural forms, she creates immersive, often site-specific pieces. Instead of being anchored in one spot all my life, drowning when up, anchored with the wave above my head and free falling when down.
