*Silkscreen printmaker creating multi-layered prints of cityscapes and landscapes. | Printmaking, Silkscreen | Based in Toronto, ON, Canada*

## Artist Statement

I create silkscreen prints inspired by places that stay with us and become part of our memories: city streets, shorelines, and landscapes. Working from my photographs, I build each print through dozens of transparent layers of ink, allowing colour, light, and texture to emerge one layer at a time.
I'm fascinated by the painterly possibilities of silkscreen. Many people are surprised to discover my work isn't a painting, but a hand-pulled print created through a layered process. I embrace the unexpected moments that happen along the way, letting each print evolve until it feels complete.
After returning to printmaking in 2023, I've rediscovered the joy of creating and sharing this remarkable medium. Whether I'm in the studio or teaching silkscreen, I hope my work encourages people to pause, look closely, and find beauty in familiar places.

## Biography

Toronto-based printmaker specializing in silkscreen. A graduate of Queen's University BFA, exhibited widely in Ontario in the early 1990s and re-emerged as a practicing artist in 2023. Working out of Open Studio in Toronto, creating silkscreen prints that combine layered transparency, drawing-based detail, and experimental mark-making, an approach shaped by early training at the AGO's Gallery School and mentorship from J.C. (Carl) Heywood at Queen's. Inspired by both urban and natural landscapes, work emphasizes depth, movement, and often surprises the viewer.

## Portfolio

### Walk Around The River Thames (2026)

I took this photo on a walk around the Thames River with my husband's cousin Deb on my trip to London in 2022 . That was an amazing day-I couldn't believe how many famous sites you can see on one walk! I loved recreating the textures of the tower and overlaying the fine line drawings.

### Secret Trip (2026)

*Original Silkscreen Ptrint*

This Silkscreen print is based on a photo I took at twilight of the Riverside Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. My daughter Lauren and I went on a trip to Fort Lauderdale in 2025 and due to the political climate we didn’t really tell many people we were going to the US: thus the title. It was fun to try and create the pastel colours like the mint green.

### Basilica (2026)

*Original Silkscreen Ptrint*

This silkscreen was created as a partial commission - the starting point was a picture of the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar in Ricoleta, Buenos Aires Argentina. The picture was something I would have chosen myself - a match to my ideal architecture scenes!

### Georgian Bay II: Crazy Clouds (2026)

*Original Silkscreen Ptrint*

Inspired by my photographs of Woodland Beach, along the shores of Georgian Bay in Tiny, Ontario. I spend a lot of time at this beach and its exciting to be able to recreate the water, sand and sky with what daughter named "Crazy Clouds.

### El Sur Grande II (2025)

*Original Silkscreen Ptrint*

This Silkscreen print along with El Sur Grande I makes a diptych - or two piece print - or can stand on its own! The image came to me as a commission for a previous work colleague. El Sur Grande is the historical Spanish name of the area in California meaning "the Big South" and eventually known as Big Sur. It was fun to print big again and create painting-like prints!

### Back to Bergen (2024)

*Original Silkscreen Ptrint*

This print evokes the cool white feelings walking in Bergen Norway - I took pics while walking around the city at a conference in 2022 - this is the Nordnes neighbourhood.

### Stroll Through Quadronno (2024)

*Original Silkscreen Ptrint*

I captured this scene of Via Quadronno in Milan on my walk to Boccioni University for a conference in 2018. It was fun to print the cool building with greenery on the outside!
