It is a gallery of new work, with two tabs that answer two different questions: what is happening on Artsume, and what is happening among the people you chose. Old `/dashboard` links land here now. ## Discover and Tracked **Discover** is the default. It ranks new work from across Artsume, whether you track anybody or not, so a brand-new account opens onto a full screen rather than an empty one. Tracking someone lifts their work in the ranking, but it never limits what you see. **Tracked** is the opposite deal. It holds only the artists and organizations you track, in the order things actually happened, with nothing ranked and nothing buried. If you track twelve people, Tracked is those twelve people. Discover loads 24 items at a time and Tracked loads 20. Use **Load more** at the bottom of either to keep going. ## What lands in your feed Most of what you scroll past is work: an image, a video, or an audio piece from someone's portfolio, with the title and catalog line under it. Mixed in are a few activity cards, roughly two per page: - **New programs** published by organizations, with the deadline attached and a card you can open straight into. - **Announcements** written by organizations. - **CV lines** as they are added, written out in plain language. "Showing in _Interior Weather_" reads better than "new CV entry", so that is what the card says. - **Acceptances**, when an artist chooses to share one. Getting accepted never posts anything by itself. Artsume asks first, and you can unshare it later. These appear on Discover only. - **New tracking**, a quiet note when someone you track starts tracking somebody new. This one appears on Tracked only. Anyone you have muted or blocked is kept out of both tabs. ## Tracking is what fills the Tracked tab Track is one-way and instant. Nobody has to approve it, and one tap undoes it. Track an organization and its new programs and announcements land in Tracked. Track an artist and their new works and CV lines land there too. Connect is the other verb, and it is a different thing: a two-way relationship that both sides agree to, which also opens messaging. Asking to connect starts you tracking them in the same tap. ![Track follows an organization's activity. [Your network](/docs/your-network) covers what each verb shares, what it does not, and how requests are answered. ## The suggestions beside your feed A rail sits alongside the feed with four cards: - **People to track**, artists picked from your discipline, your location, and who your own network tracks. - **Programs for you**, open programs scored against your practice, each labeled by how well it fits. - **Organizations to connect with**, drawn the same way. - **[Artsume Pro](/docs/artsume-pro)**, which names what your plan would add. It shows for everyone. These are free. There is no Pro requirement on any of them, and the rail says so. What [Artsume Pro](/docs/artsume-pro) adds is depth: all five weekly matches instead of one, and the names behind your profile views. > ℹ️ **Nothing here is a post you write:** Feed has no compose box, and that is deliberate. Your updates are derived from what you actually do: add a portfolio piece, add a CV line, get accepted somewhere. The only authored posts are announcements, and only organizations can write those. ## Keeping yourself in other people's feeds Because your activity is derived rather than posted, the way to stay visible is to keep working on your profile. Every work you add to your [portfolio](/docs/building-portfolio) and every line you add to your [CV](/docs/creating-cv) surfaces to the people tracking you, with no extra step and no caption to write. The reverse is also true. A profile nobody has touched in six months makes no feed entries at all. ## When a tab is empty Discover is all but never empty. On the rare occasion it has nothing to show it reads "No work to show yet", and a failure to load brings up the retry control instead. Tracked starts empty by design, because you have not tracked anyone yet. It points you to **Discover** on the [Network page](/docs/your-network), where suggestions are waiting. You can also work from [Explore](/explore), which is the better route when you know what you are looking for. ## Frequently Asked Questions **Q: Why do I see work from people I don't track?** A: That's the Discover tab, which ranks new work from across Artsume. Tracking lifts someone in the ranking but never limits the tab. Switch to Tracked to see only the people and organizations you chose. **Q: Can I post to my feed?** A: There's no compose box. Your feed entries come from what you do on Artsume: adding a portfolio work, adding a CV line, or sharing an acceptance when Artsume offers. Only organizations can write announcements. **Q: Does getting accepted announce itself?** A: No. When a decision comes back accepted, Artsume asks whether you want to share it. If you say yes it becomes a card on Discover, and you can unshare it at any time. **Q: Where did the old dashboard go?** A: It became /feed, which is where you land when you sign in. Old /dashboard links redirect there automatically. **Q: Are the suggestions in the rail a Pro feature?** A: No. People to track, Programs for you, and Organizations to connect with are free for everyone.
