It answers the questions a good profile should raise: is anyone looking, who are they, and is that attention growing. Everything on the page is visible only to you. ## Opening Insights Open **Insights** from the left navigation, or go to [/insights](/insights). Insights belongs to you as a person, not to an artist profile. If you are on Artsume as an arts professional and have no artist side, Insights still works: your page gets viewed, and those viewers, their locations, and your search appearances are yours to read. The artist side adds sections rather than opening the door. The page covers your last 30 days, marked by the **Last 30 days** badge at the top. Every trend compares those 30 days against the 30 before them. ## The headline numbers Four tiles sit at the top: - **Search appearances.** How often you turned up in someone's search or discovery results on Artsume. - **Profile views.** How many times your profile was opened, with an all-time figure underneath. - **Unique viewers.** How many distinct people are behind those views. - **Engagements.** A roll-up of the meaningful interactions with your work. This tile needs the artist side, so a professional-only account sees three tiles rather than four. ### More signals Underneath, a **More signals** strip carries the quieter numbers worth watching: - **Tracks you**: people tracking your work. - **Connections**: the size of your network. - **Referrals**: people who joined Artsume through you. See [Refer and earn](/docs/artsume-pro). - **Portfolio saves**: how many times someone hearted one of your works. Needs the artist side. See [Favorites](/docs/favorites). - **Card scans**: scans of your shareable Artsume card. Needs the artist side, and [Sharing your profile](/docs/sharing-your-profile) explains the card. ### Reading the trend chips A trend chip shows the change against the previous 30 days. The chips are colored by whether the change is _good_, not by which direction it moved, so a number that falls in your favor still reads green. ![A trend chip. Below the tiles, a **Profile views over time** chart plots the same data, with a **Daily** and **Weekly** toggle for smoothing out day-to-day noise. ## Who viewed your profile The **Who viewed your profile** card splits your named viewers into two tabs, **Organizations** and **People**. It counts signed-in viewers only, and says so: anonymous visits are never listed. What you see inside depends on your plan: - On the free plan you get the count, for example that three organizations viewed your profile. - On [Artsume Pro](/docs/artsume-pro) each tab lists the actual viewers, with names, avatars, how often they viewed you, and when they last stopped by. > 💡 **Free tells you how many. Pro tells you who.:** If an organization running a residency you want has been reading your profile, that is worth knowing before you write to them. Pro also unlocks Most viewed works, further down this page. Compare plans on the [pricing page](/pricing). ## Browse privately Being able to see who viewed you depends on being visible yourself. That trade is a single **Browse privately** switch in **Settings**, under **Privacy & visibility**. Turn it on and you are kept out of the viewer list on the profiles you visit. In return, the **Who viewed your profile** card stops showing you who viewed yours, and puts a short note in place of the list. > ⚠️ **Browse privately hides viewers in both directions:** Turning it on does not only hide you from other people. It hides your own viewer list from you. If you want to see who has been looking, leave it off. ## Where your viewers come from ### By location The **Where your viewers are from** card breaks your profile views down by country as an anonymous aggregate. It is location only, drawn from the connection, and never tied to a named person. You can watch your reach spread to a new country without anyone being identified. ### Most viewed works The **Most viewed works** card ranks your own portfolio pieces by how often each one was opened, so you can see which work actually pulls attention. It needs the artist side, and it is part of Artsume Pro. On the free plan the card invites you to upgrade instead. Keep [building your portfolio](/docs/building-portfolio) and the ranking gets more useful. ### Top referrers A **Top referrers** panel in the side column groups the traffic to your profile into five kinds of source: **Artsume Explorer**, **Direct / Email**, **Google Search**, **Organization page**, and **Other websites**. It tells you whether people are finding you through [Explore](/explore), a link you shared, or search. ## Grow from what you see The side column turns the numbers into next steps: - **Improve your visibility** offers prompts such as **Complete your profile**, **Add more artwork**, and **Keep your CV updated**. Each one links straight into your profile, and a prompt drops off the card once you have done it. This card needs the artist side. - **Programs activity** summarizes your own funnel: programs viewed, applications submitted, and applications started. For the status vocabulary behind those, see [Managing applications](/docs/managing-applications). - **Achievements** shows your earned badges by category, with progress rings on the ones still open. Tracking counts toward your numbers here, and it comes from your professional graph. [Your network](/docs/your-network) explains how tracking and connecting differ. ## How views are counted A few deliberate rules keep the numbers honest, and they also explain why plenty of views carry no name: - **One view per browser per day.** A repeat visit from the same browser inside 24 hours is not counted again, so somebody reloading your page cannot inflate your views. - **Bots are filtered out.** Automated crawlers are detected and excluded. - **Not every view carries a name.** A view is attributed to a named viewer only when that person is signed in and not browsing privately. Signed-out visitors, private browsers, and anyone Artsume cannot confidently identify are recorded anonymously. Your total view count will usually run well ahead of your named-viewer count. - **You never appear as your own viewer.** Opening your own profile is never attributed to you. ## Frequently Asked Questions **Q: Do I need an artist profile to see Insights?** A: No. Insights belongs to the person. An arts professional with no artist side still gets views, unique viewers, search appearances, viewer locations, and the named-viewer card. The artist side adds Engagements, Most viewed works, portfolio saves, and card scans. **Q: Why is my Profile views number higher than my named viewers?** A: Named viewers only include signed-in visitors who aren't browsing privately. Anonymous visitors and unidentified traffic still add to your total but never appear by name. A gap between the two is expected. **Q: Can other people see my Insights?** A: No. Insights is private and visible only to you. Nothing on the page appears on your public profile. **Q: How do I see the names of who viewed me?** A: Named viewers, along with Most viewed works, are part of Artsume Pro. Free accounts see the counts; Pro reveals the identities. **Q: I turned on Browse privately and my viewer list disappeared. Is that a bug?** A: No, it's the deal. Browse privately is reciprocal: while it's on you aren't named to others, and you can't see who viewed you. Turn it off in Settings under Privacy & visibility to bring the list back. **Q: Why does the location card show a country but not a city or a person?** A: The location breakdown is an anonymous, country-level aggregate by design.
