## About

City-run artist residency program at Tainan's historic Tsung-Yeh Arts and Cultural Center.

The AiR Program of Tainan City Government of Taiwan is a public artist-in-residence initiative based at the Tsung-Yeh Arts and Cultural Center in the Madou district on the northern outskirts of Tainan City. The center occupies the former factory and headquarters of the Japanese Meiji Sugar Manufacturing Corporation, which began operation in January 1912, and its four historic buildings are preserved as municipal monuments. The Red Brick Office and Red Brick Craft Hall now serve as exhibition halls where resident artists create and present site-specific work. The program invites artists working in any discipline to respond to the site's industrial heritage, hydrology, ecology, and local culture.
