## About

A self-organized, non-profit artist residency in Omalo, Tusheti, Georgia.

Aqtushetii is a self-organized, non-profit artist residency founded in 2017 in Omalo, Tusheti, a remote mountain region of Georgia. Set within a landscape defined by high altitude, ancient defensive architecture, and living craft traditions, it brings together artists and researchers for independent practice, exchange, and collaboration. The residency maintains shared studio and workshop spaces spanning painting, ceramics, silversmithing, sound recording, photography, and woodworking, and runs recurring workshops in ceramics, traditional Tushetian weaving, photography, and Georgian polyphonic singing.

It favors concentrated, independent practice in a quiet, remote setting over production deadlines.
