## About

Annual festival celebrating cinema by Black, Brown, and Indigenous filmmakers worldwide.

BlackStar Film Festival is an annual celebration of the visual and storytelling traditions of the global majority, showcasing films by Black, Brown, and Indigenous people from around the world. Now in its 15th year, the festival brings together thousands of attendees in Philadelphia for four days of boundary-pushing cinema, conversations, and community gatherings, alongside an online program reaching audiences worldwide. The festival culminates in jury and audience awards honoring standout films from its program each year.
