## About

Wichita botanical garden with 20 acres of themed gardens, horticultural classes, sculpture and community events.

Botanica, The Wichita Gardens is a nonprofit botanical garden in Wichita, Kansas, that opened to the public in 1987. Its mission is to generate enthusiasm for horticulture and to offer educational, artistic and cultural experiences, while promoting community development.

The gardens cover over 20 acres with more than 4,000 plant species across about 30 themed gardens, including the Chinese Garden of Friendship, the Downing Children's Garden and the Koch Carousel Gardens. The grounds are also decorated with a collection of over 50 sculptures, along with streams, fountains and waterfalls.

Botanica offers classes, workshops, garden tours and youth education, along with memberships, a gift shop and a café. It also hosts seasonal special events throughout the year, which account for about a quarter of its annual attendance.
