## About

Merriam, Kansas municipal public art program enhancing community spaces through sculpture and murals.

The City of Merriam is a municipal government in Merriam, Kansas, that operates an active public art program to enhance public spaces and foster community identity. Established through a five-year placemaking initiative by the Merriam City Council in 2014, the program has grown to include numerous permanent sculptures, murals, and installations throughout the city. The Merriam Public Art Committee works alongside residents, visitors, and artists to commission and steward public artworks across parks, community centers, and streetscapes.

The program is guided by a Public Art and Placemaking Master Plan that prioritizes community engagement, inclusivity, and economic development through the arts.
