## About

New York arts organization annually granting early career performance artists since 1985.

Franklin Furnace is a New York City-based arts organization dedicated to supporting early career performance artists. Founded in 1985 with the support of the Jerome Foundation, it annually awards grants through peer panel review to enable artists to produce major performance art works in New York City. The organization welcomes applicants from around the world, with the expectation that selected artists present their work in New York City.

Franklin Furnace has been a longstanding champion of avant-garde and time-based art forms, particularly installation and performance art.
