## About

Iziko Museums of South Africa preserves and showcases the nation's natural, cultural and historical heritage across Cape Town.

Iziko Museums of South Africa is a network of national museums based in Cape Town, encompassing institutions such as the Iziko South African Museum, the South African National Gallery and the Bo-Kaap Museum. The organization cares for extensive collections spanning natural history, fossils, cultural artifacts and fine art, including the historic South African Museum founded in 1825 in the Company's Gardens. Through its exhibitions, Iziko explores South African history and identity, addressing themes such as slavery, freedom, human rights and cultural heritage.

The museums also offer educational programmes for schools and the public, including planetarium shows, guided tours and outreach initiatives. Iziko positions its museums as accessible public spaces, inviting visitors to engage with both the natural world and South Africa's social history.
