## About

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is a nonprofit arts complex in Manhattan that presents music, dance, opera, theater and film programs.

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts is a 16.3-acre complex of buildings in the Lincoln Square neighborhood on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. It was founded in 1956 as an experiment in cultural democracy and is a nonprofit that presents hundreds of programs each year, mostly free or Choose-What-You-Pay.

The campus houses performing arts organizations including the New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Ballet, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and the Juilliard School. Its first three buildings, David Geffen Hall, the David H. Koch Theater and the Metropolitan Opera House, opened in 1962, 1964 and 1966.
