## About

Art museum in Kleinburg focused on Canadian artists, especially the Group of Seven

The McMichael Canadian Art Collection (MCAC) is an art museum in Kleinburg, an unincorporated village in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. Located on a 40-hectare property, it includes a 7,900-square-metre main building, sculpture garden, walking trails, and a cemetery for six Group of Seven members. The collection, started by Robert and Signe McMichael in 1955, was donated to the Government of Ontario in 1965 and opened to the public in 1966. It originally focused on the Group of Seven but expanded to include contemporary Canadian art and Indigenous art. The permanent collection has over 6,500 works by Canadian artists, including Inuit art archives. The museum organizes travelling exhibitions and is governed as a Crown corporation.
