## About

Non-commercial film workshop offering low-cost tools, instruction, and screenings to independent filmmakers.

Millennium Film Workshop is a non-commercial film organization founded in 1966 by a group of filmmakers seeking to expand access to the tools, ideas, and networks of filmmaking beyond institutions and corporate studios. It offers non-commercial film artists, regardless of experience, the use of filmmaking tools and instruction at little or no cost, along with a means of connecting with others of similar creative interest. The Workshop has hosted educational workshops and artist-run screenings, published the Millennium Film Journal, and served as a production hub for filmmakers including Stan Brakhage, Todd Haynes, Yvonne Rainer, Carolee Schneemann, Michael Snow, Nick Zedd, Andy Warhol and Bruce Conner.

Its historical archive has been acquired in connection with the Museum of Modern Art, reflecting its central role in New York's experimental film culture since the 1960s.
