## About

New York laboratory for the investigation of dance and movement-based forms, offering free and low-cost programs.

Movement Research, founded in 1978, is one of the world's leading laboratories for the investigation of dance and movement-based forms. It values the individual artist, their creative process and their role within society. The organization creates free and low-cost programs that nurture discourse and experimentation.

Its work includes classes and workshops, performances and events, artist opportunities such as the Artists of Color Council, subsidized rehearsal space, and the publication Critical Correspondence. It strives to reflect the cultural, political and economic diversity of its moving community, including artists and audiences alike.
