Persea Books is an independent publishing house that has been producing books since 1975. The press focuses primarily on poetry, publishing full-length collections from acclaimed and emerging poets alike. Persea also runs the Lexi Rudnitsky First Book Prize in Poetry, a contest honoring poet-activist Lexi Rudnitsky that supports women publishing their first full-length collection.

Its authors have received recognition including the William Carlos Williams Book Award and residencies such as the Poet-in-Residence position at the Guggenheim Museum.
