## About

Reed Magazine publishes a literary and arts journal available by issue.

Reed Magazine is California's oldest literary journal, tracing its heritage to 1867 as a student publication of the California State Normal School, the precursor to San José State University. Published by graduate students at San José State University, the magazine features fiction, poetry, essays, profiles, and visual art from writers around the world. The staff is committed to publishing writers and artists who might be marginalized or excluded in traditional publishing, valuing diverse voices and perspectives.

Reed has featured work by literary figures including Pulitzer Prize-winner William Finnegan, U.S. Poet Laureate Robert Hass, and National Book Award-winner Ursula K. Le Guin, alongside several Pushcart Prize-winning pieces.
