The Roger Tory Peterson Institute (RTPI) preserves the legacy of Roger Tory Peterson, the artist and naturalist known as the father of the modern field guide. It uses art as a lens to inform, inspire, and illuminate the natural world, hosting exhibitions of nature-focused painting, photography, and other visual art. RTPI is home to the largest collection of Peterson's original artworks, films, photographs, and related archival materials. The institute also runs public programs and events such as plein air festivals, gallery talks, and bird walks.
