## About

St. Johns County's local arts agency, supporting artists and cultural organizations and running two historic venues.

The St. Johns Cultural Council is the designated Local Arts Agency for St. Johns County, Florida, based in St. Augustine. It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in July 2000, and the St. Johns County Board of Commissioners named it the official local arts agency in 2007. Its mission is to support local artists and arts organizations and to promote the county as a premier arts destination.

It offers grants, professional development and exhibition and performance opportunities to artists, and grants, marketing support and other resources to cultural organizations. It also produces cultural events, funds arts education projects, creates public art exhibitions and manages two National Register of Historic Places venues, The Waterworks and the Cultural Arts Center at the St. Augustine Beach Hotel. For the county's Tourist Development Council it provides arts, culture and heritage tourism marketing and administers the county's Arts, Culture and Heritage Grant Program.
