## About

A New York museum built around its permanent collection and the Whitney Biennial.

The Whitney Museum of American Art is a New York institution dedicated to the art of the United States, holding an extensive permanent collection that spans painting, sculpture, photography, and film. It organizes the Whitney Biennial, the longest-running survey of American art, a hallmark of the Museum since 1932. Beyond its galleries, the Museum offers family artmaking workshops, tours, video series, and podcasts exploring art at the Whitney. It also maintains artport, its dedicated gallery space for Internet and new-media art.
