## About This Program

### About

Since 2007, the Dora Maar House in Ménerbes, France, has offered residencies of one to two months to mid-career arts and humanities professionals to focus on their areas of expertise. The application cycle for the 2025 Artists Residency Program is now accepting applications. There is no cost. We provide Fellows with a stipend of $1500 and we provide a travel award of the average fare from their home to Paris.

### Benefits

1. one month in residence at the Dora Maar House
2. a private bedroom and bath, and a study or studio in which to work
3. expenses paid for round-trip travel from a fellow's home to the Dora Maar House
4. a grant based upon the length of stay at Dora Maar House

### Expectations

- that you enjoy the opportunities this remarkable residence offers you and use your time well
- that you help us learn about the program's strengths and weaknesses and suggest how we can improve
- that you are friendly to the citizens of Ménerbes and make one public presentation during the monthly "Salons"
- that you donate to the DMCC one drawing, publication, etc. created during your stay there and, should a publication come from your work there, that you recognize the DMCC

### The admission process

Applications will be reviewed by the Director, the jury, and the board of directors. You will receive a response to your application roughly two and half months after the deadline. We assume that there will be more applicants than there will be spaces available and that some applicants, including some strong applicants, will not be accepted. We cannot comment on applications or give feedback.

What do we look for:

- Quality of the project
- Space available in Dora Maar House during the time requested
- Fellowship funding availability
- The applicant's ability to work independently and to live in a small community of fellows
- The applicant's ability to represent the Fellows program well
- The applicant's ability to speak some French
- The dynamics of the residents occupying Dora Maar House at any given time

## Eligibility & Requirements
