# Open Call: Culinary Residency

**Hosted by:** DAS MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam

**Type:** Residency | **Location:** DAS MINSK Kunsthaus in Potsdam, Potsdam, Brandenburg, Germany | **Deadline:** September 19, 2026

## About This Program

> "Cooking as a cultural and artistic practice: community, memory, hospitality, nutrition, regional tradition, agricultural science, ecology and the future of food"

The culinary residency invites chefs, artists, food designers, and those with interdisciplinary practices to explore the history of the former terrace restaurant or new, contemporary forms of communal dining. We are seeking proposals that treat cooking as a cultural and artistic practice, engaging with themes such as community, memory, hospitality, nutrition, and regional tradition, alongside agricultural science, ecology, and the future of food. During the residency, the recipient will develop their own project and present their work as part of the museum's public program.

Das MINSK opened in 1977 as a terrace restaurant and is today a museum of modern and contemporary art; its architecture, history of use and transformation from restaurant to museum form a particular resonance chamber for artistic, culinary and scholarly engagement. Possible formats include: development of a seasonal menu contribution or a signature dish for the museum café Cafébar HEDWIG; public cooking evenings or supper clubs; cooking workshops and courses; communal meals and participatory formats; artistic or performative dinners; projects on regional, historical or sustainable food cultures; and interdisciplinary collaborations with artists, researchers or local initiatives.

Projects that open new perspectives on the history of the house and that connect the culinary with artistic research are especially welcome.
