## About This Program

The City of Ottawa invites professional artists or artist teams to submit interest and qualifications for the opportunity to be Vanier's artist in residence. This community-led initiative is designed to foster meaningful engagement and dialogue with the Vanier community, and the insights gained will inform the creation of a final legacy artwork(s). The residency budget is $40,000 CAD (plus HST if applicable), with an additional $40,000 to $70,000 CAD available to create a final legacy artwork(s) after the residency.

## Eligibility & Requirements

- **Geographic Eligibility:** International
- **Disciplines:** public art, mural, painting, sculpture, installation, mixed media
- **Note:** Open to professional artists or artist teams. Must be professional (not emerging/amateur). Artist teams are explicitly welcome to apply.

## Compensation & Benefits

$40,000 CAD for artist in residence; additional $40,000–$70,000 CAD for final legacy artwork(s)

**Includes:** Stipend, Commission fee

$40,000 CAD plus HST if applicable for the artist in residence phase. An additional budget of $40,000 to $70,000 CAD can be provided to create a final legacy artwork(s) after the residency.
