# Museum Store Vendor Interest

**Hosted by:** City of Longmont

**Type:** Open call | **Location:** Longmont Museum Store, Longmont, CO, United States

## About This Program

### About

The Longmont Museum is seeking artists, designers and creatives for submissions to carry in the newly renovated and expanded Museum Store (The Store). We are looking for unique handcrafted items to carry, on consignment.

All work submitted will be reviewed and the review process is ongoing, however, due to the high volume of inquiries the Museum Store buyer will contact only those applicants with whom The Store wishes to carry on a further conversation.

Drop-by applicants or samples will not be accepted for review and applicants will be redirected to the website or provided a paper application.

To apply, please follow the directions in the Application Requirements.

Upon acceptance, the applicant will be required to enter into a Consignment Agreement and apply as a Vendor with the Longmont Museum to proceed.

This Call for Artists is exclusively for the Museum Store. The Longmont Museum is not accepting exhibition proposals at this time.

Additional questions should be addressed to MuseumStore@longmontcolorado.gov

### Application Requirements

In response to this call to artists, applicants are asked to submit:

- Six to ten digital images of available items or similar previous work (at least two completed within the last year)
- A visual consignment report of available (or similar) items, complete with:
- Images/thumbnails of the works you wish to consign (and quantity)
- Retail price (split is 60 Artist/40 Store)
- Dimensions of the work
- Creation date
- Weight (if applicable)
- A brief description of the work
- A brief artist statement
- A brief bio and headshot

We recognize artist inventory fluctuates. We ask that the visual consignment report represent available items or similar items that are representative of the artist's work. Please include any reorder production notes in the consignment report as appropriate.

### Pricing

The retail prices should take into consideration the consignment split Artist/Store 60/40.

All applications will be reviewed. Upon review, all applications will receive a status update available for applicants to view in their CallforEntry.org portal. Applicants will be contacted and scheduled individually for an in-person product sample review on a case-by-case basis. Due to the high volume of applicants and inquiries, the Museum Store buyer will contact only those applicants with whom The Store wishes to carry on a further conversation.

Upon acceptance, the applicant will be required to enter into a Consignment Agreement and apply as a Vendor with the City of Longmont/Longmont Museum to proceed.

Submission acceptance will be ongoing and reviewed regularly.

### Delivery and Storage

Upon acceptance, the Museum Store agrees to store and display the consigned goods with reasonable care, similar to the treatment of the Store's own merchandise.

Upon delivery, all artworks and items on consignment must be "gallery ready" and follow the Store's standards for 2D and 3D pieces. All hanging artwork will be examined for properly secured wiring and presentation. The wire must be able to withstand the weight of the piece to be hung on the Store system. Any packaging for items on consignment must be approved by Store staff, in advance, as storage is very limited.

Goods will be kept in the main retail showroom or secure on-site storage facility. The Store does not have storage for any delivery material, nor the capacity to ship or deliver.

All related details are outlined and to be agreed upon acceptance and execution of the Consignment Agreement.

### Eligibility Criteria

Consignment consideration is open to artists residing in USA, regardless of race, color, creed, gender, gender variance, sexual orientation, national origin, age, religion, marital status, political opinion or affiliation, or mental or physical disability. Questions regarding eligibility should contact MuseumStore@LongmontColorado.gov.

The City of Longmont/Longmont Museum accepts no responsibility for costs incurred by the artist in responding to this Call for Artists.
