## About This Program

> "Material expansion — fiber as primary material augmented by wire, paint, wood, found objects, digital processes, or sculptural structure"

Figure + Material Expansion- Fiber+ invites artists to use fiber as the primary material while incorporating additional elements such as wire, paint, wood, found objects, digital processes, or sculptural structure. Fiber should remain the main focus of the work, with added materials supporting and enhancing it — not overpowering it.

This exhibition is about pushing fiber beyond traditional expectations. We are looking for work that explores new combinations of materials, expands into three-dimensional space, or blends hand processes with unexpected techniques. The added materials should have a clear purpose and deepen the meaning or structure of the piece,

Fiber+ is not about decoration. It is about thoughtful expansion — honoring fiber while exploring how far it can go.

## Eligibility & Requirements

- **Geographic Eligibility:** International
- **Disciplines:** fiber, textile
- **Age Requirements:** 18+ years old
- **Note:** Open to artists 18+ working in fiber, textile, or fiber-adjacent media and natural materials. Submitted work must be primarily fiber or textile-based (hand/machine stitching, quilting, weaving, felting, soft sculpture, embroidery, mixed media with strong fiber components). Both 2D and 3D works eligible. Work must be original, created by the submitting artist, and completed within the last five years. Work previously exhibited at William Scofield Gallery is not eligible. Artists responsible for shipping to and from the gallery, including customs fees and international documentation.

### Additional Requirements

Up to 3 works per artist. Each work: 1 full image (1200px on longest side; multiple images allowed when submitting only 1 work). Include title, dimensions (H x W x D), medium/materials, year completed, and short artist statement (200 words max). Non-refundable $30 entry fee covers submission of up to 3 works.
