## About This Program

Boyne Arts Center | Artist Info. Thank you for your interest in becoming an artist with Boyne Arts Center. We aim to support local artists, present high-quality work, and offer meaningful exhibition opportunities in our gallery and partner locations. Artists working in oils, watercolors, acrylics, alcohol ink, pastels, sculpture, pottery, pen and ink, charcoal, fiber art, glass, photography, stone, wood, or colored pencil are eligible to apply.

All submitted work must be original to the artist. Accepted artists may be invited to display work in the Exhibition Gallery, Gift Shop, Holiday Art Show, and local businesses and establishments where BAC curates rotating exhibits through existing partnerships. All artwork must arrive ready for display: two-dimensional work should be framed or presented on a clean, gallery-wrapped canvas or panel with finished edges, wired securely for hanging; three-dimensional work should be clean, stable, and exhibition-ready.

A display fee of $10 per month applies to all displaying artists. BAC uses a tiered commission structure based on the number of volunteer shifts an artist chooses to complete each year: 60/40 split with no shift requirement, 70/30 split with 12 volunteer shifts per calendar year, or 75/25 split with 24 volunteer shifts per calendar year. A volunteer shift = 4 hours.

## Eligibility & Requirements

- **Geographic Eligibility:** Local
- **Disciplines:** oil painting, watercolor, acrylic painting, alcohol ink, pastels, sculpture, pottery, pen and ink, charcoal, fiber art, glass, photography, stone, wood, colored pencil
- **Note:** Boyne Arts Center welcomes applications from artists whose primary and/or seasonal residence are within a 100-mile radius of Boyne City Arts Center. Artists must live and/or primarily work within the local region. All submitted work must be original to the artist. Submission limit: 1.

### Additional Requirements

3 to 10 images of artwork (no audio or video). All submitted work must be original to the artist.

## Compensation & Benefits

A display fee of $10 per month applies to all displaying artists. BAC uses a tiered commission structure based on the number of volunteer shifts an artist chooses to complete each year:

- 60/40 split (60% to the artist, 40% to BAC) with no shift requirement
- 70/30 split with 12 volunteer shifts per calendar year
- 75/25 split with 24 volunteer shifts per calendar year

The commission rate an artist selects applies to all of their sales across all BAC venues. A volunteer shift = 4 hours.
