## About This Program

### About the Market

The Kris Kringle Market is a juried vendor event held at the historic Belle Grove Plantation in Middletown, Virginia. Now in its 7th year, the market attracts approximately 5,000 visitors over two days, offering a festive holiday shopping experience. The event features more than 100 artisans and crafters selling a diverse range of handcrafted items, including jewelry, art, woodworking, fiber arts, and gourmet foods. Beyond shopping, the market provides a family-friendly atmosphere with carolers, stories with Kris Kringle, a petting zoo, spiced wine, and self-guided tours of the Manor House.

### Eligibility & Category Rules

Timeline: We will strive to provide a jury decision or request clarification within 30 days of receiving your application.

Eligibility: The market is open to artists, crafters, and small businesses that create their own original items. Resale businesses and Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) companies are not accepted.

Category Constraints: 80% or more of your booth space must be dedicated to the category you apply under. Be aware that high-demand categories—such as jewelry, candles, and certain food products—may close early once capacity is reached. Any categories that are closed will be listed at the top of this section and vendors are responsible for checking their category before they submit an application. Application fees will not be refunded to vendors who apply after a category has been announced as closed.

System Requirements: You will need a strong internet connection to complete the application or your photos may not upload. The application can be completed on a mobile device but we recommend using a computer, if possible.

Information Needed: We recommend having your contact details, product description, photos, logo, social media links, and a credit card for the application fee ready before starting.

Photos: You must upload two or three high-quality photos of your products plus your booth display. Your photos must be of products in the category that you are applying under. If you do not have a photo of your booth display, you can upload a drawing of your booth layout. You can also upload a logo if you have one. Photos sent via email will not be accepted.

Product Descriptions: Provide a robust, professional description of your items, as this text will be used directly in event marketing materials.

Decor: Vendors are strongly encouraged to decorate their space(s) for the holidays to add to the festive atmosphere.

Outdoor Spaces: All vendor spaces are outdoors so vendors will need to be prepared for November weather, as well as uneven ground. Vendors must be prepared for high winds and wet weather. Belle Grove is not responsible for any damage to vendor products, equipment or persons.

Mobility Warning: The grounds are expansive with very little of it paved. Vendors should consider their own mobility on gravel and uneven ground before applying.

Merchandise Rules: Only approved items may be sold. Political or "anti-American" wares are prohibited, and trademarked/copyrighted items are not allowed without proper licenses. At least 80% of items must fit the specific category selected on the application.

Booth Requirements: Tents must be professional in appearance (no stains or holes) and MUST be secured with at least 40 pounds of weight per leg due to high winds. Table legs must be covered and boxes/tubs must be kept out of sight. Belle Grove does not provide electricity but quiet generators (under 60dBa) are permitted.

Vendor Parking: In order to provide more parking for shoppers, we are considering moving vendor parking offsite to a location within a 5 minute drive of Belle Grove. We will provide a free shuttle if we decide to do that. If we keep vendor parking on our grounds, be advised that it will be in an unpaved field across the road from the event area. All vehicles must be removed from the festival area 30 minutes prior to the event opening to the public and will not be allowed into the festival area until 30 minutes after the event is closed to the public.

Professional Conduct: Vendors must remain set up for the entire time the event is open to the public both Saturday and Sunday. Breaking down early results in exclusion from future events. Any unsafe or obscene behavior toward staff, volunteers, or guests is grounds for immediate removal.

Vendor Permit: A $30 Temporary Vendor Permit is required for those without a Frederick County (Virginia) business license. Business licenses from Frederick County localities (Middletown, Stephens City, etc.) are acceptable but not Winchester City.
