## About This Program

We invite artists to submit works for our upcoming exhibition FACES & GRACES. The show explores the multi-layered meanings of the term grace and its connection to the term face. Grace can be considered from four perspectives: Aesthetics and grace – How do faces reflect the beauty and grace of being human? Mercy and forgiveness – Which emotions in faces express mercy, compassion or forgiveness? Cultural and spiritual dimensions – What role does grace play in different cultures and spiritual traditions? Social interactions – How do facial expressions influence our interpersonal relationships?

We are looking for works that rethink and visualize these connections – in painting, photography, sculpture, installation, video and digital media.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
•Who can participate? All artists from the disciplines of painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, performance, installation, new media, etc.
•Submission format: Please send photos of your works related to the theme (max. 3-4 works to choose from: JPEG/ max. 2 MB), a short concept (max. 300 words) about the relationship of your works to the theme, and a short CV to: office@herwigmariastark.com .

EXHIBITION DETAILS
•Exhibition venue: Atelier-Galerie Herwig Maria Stark, Kohlgasse 51 top 2, 10 50 Vienna
•Exhibition period: 7–16 May 2026, 02:00–06:00 p.m., closed on Sundays and Mondays,
Opening: May 7, 2026, at 6:30–9:00 p.m.
closing event May 16, 2026: 4–7 p.m., followed by dismantling.

EVENTS: A discussion panel is planned as part of the exhibition, which will address the themes of the exhibition 'GRACES & FACES'. The selected artists are invited to actively participate in this event. (Date to be announced)
