### About the publication

Women in Arts Magazine is a print publication. Issue 01 will feature fifty women artists selected through this open call. Each artist is published with her artworks, biography and artist statement, and listed in the index of artists with her country, medium, website and Instagram.

The theme is open: submit up to three works that best represent your current practice. All visual mediums are accepted, and the call is open to women artists aged 18 and over in any country and at any stage of their career.

The winner of the $500 Women in Arts Magazine Award receives a 4-page spread and a published interview in the issue.

### What every selected artist receives

All fifty selected artists receive the same package: publication in the printed Issue 01, promotion on Women in Arts Network's social media and newsletter, and consideration for the $500 Award.

- A feature in Issue 01 — your selected works reproduced in print and credited with title, year, medium and dimensions, alongside your biography and artist statement
- Index of artists — your name, country, medium, website and Instagram listed at the back of the magazine
- Social media promotion — a dedicated video feature and editorial post on Women in Arts Network's Instagram
- Newsletter feature — your work presented to Women in Arts Network's email subscribers
- Publication credit — a citable publication in Women in Arts Magazine, Issue 01, for your CV, website and future applications
- Award consideration — every selected artist is considered for the $500 Women in Arts Magazine Award and a 4-page spread

Printed copies of Issue 01 can be ordered at a contributor rate. There are no fees after selection.

### The Women in Arts Magazine Award

One of the fifty selected artists will receive the Women in Arts Magazine Award. All selected artists are considered automatically. There is no separate entry and no extra fee.

$500 + a 4-page spread in Issue 01, awarded by juror Charuka Arora to the artist with the strongest body of work in Issue 01. The award includes a published interview with the winner, and payment is by bank transfer or PayPal within 30 days.

### Juried selection

Every submission is reviewed in full by juror Charuka Arora. Selection is based on the work alone. Career stage, representation and social media following are not considered.

1. Review — every submission is checked for eligibility and image quality, and every artwork is viewed in full
2. Shortlist — the juror shortlists the strongest submissions and reviews each shortlisted artist's wider practice
3. Selection — the juror selects the fifty artists for Issue 01 and chooses the winner of the $500 Award

Criteria: Quality (resolved, confidently made work), Voice (a distinct and recognisable approach), Coherence (works that hold together as a group), Presentation (clear, high-quality images).

- **Age Requirements:** 18+ years old
- **Note:** Open to women artists aged 18 and over, in any country and at any stage of their career. Career stage, representation and social media following are not considered in selection.

## Compensation & Benefits

$500 award + a 4-page spread and published interview for the winner; all fifty selected artists are published and promoted but otherwise unpaid.
