# Call for Exhibit Proposals

## About This Program

The Museum of Northern California Art (monca) invites Northern California artists to submit proposals for a solo or small group exhibition in our Phillips Gallery. We require that the artworks have been produced primarily in Northern California, and the artist(s) must currently reside in Northern California. Our Phillips gallery is 32'x27'. Available time slots are: Exhibition dates: March 11 - April 25, 2027 (6 weeks); August 5 - September 19, 2027 (7 weeks); September 23 - November 14, 2027 (8 weeks); November 18, 2027 - January 9, 2028 (8 weeks).

All artwork must be hand delivered and installed by the artist, or by artist's designee. A non-refundable entry fee of $30 is required for juried review of a minimum of 8 artworks. The jury is comprised of monca's exhibition committee, six diverse artists and art collectors.

## Eligibility & Requirements

- **Geographic Eligibility:** Local
- **Note:** Open to artists living and working in Northern California (see list of eligible counties). Artworks must have been produced primarily in Northern California, and the artist(s) must currently reside in Northern California. All artwork must be original (no AI). Artwork cannot have been previously exhibited at monca. No work included in the exhibit may be removed prior to the closing date once artwork has been installed. Submission limit: 1.

### Additional Requirements

- 8-12 images of proposed or representative works
- Artist Statement
- Exhibit proposal narrative detailing the vision and thematic focus of the proposed exhibition, listing specific equipment, technology or electrical needs for the exhibit
- Artist CV listing any previous exhibitions or other relevant information
- if all or any part of this artwork has been shown elsewhere, dates and locations of prior showings.
