## About This Program

### Opportunity Summary

The Decatur Artway kicks off another year as Decatur's outdoor gallery, featuring dynamic sculptures scattered throughout the city of Decatur. Sculptures will be displayed on temporary loan for two years, creating an engaging rotating collection of public art around town.  An interactive online map will permit public engagement and increase accessibility, and a plaque at each installation site will detail information about the artist and the sculpture.

The Decatur Artway is presented by the Decatur Arts Alliance in partnership with the Decatur Tourism Bureau and the Decatur Downtown Development Authority.

### General Information

Selected artists will be awarded an honorarium of $2,000. The installed work may be available for sale. Artwork sold as a result of the Decatur Artway will be subject to a 20% commission, which will be deducted from the purchase price and retained by the Decatur Arts Alliance.

The sculpture must be available for the duration of the two-year contract. All submissions must be professionally constructed of durable materials which will withstand the elements. ***No maquettes or renderings will be considered for selection. We will only accept existing and ready-to-install works.***

Please note--if the submitted work has been selected and confirmed for another exhibition before October 1, 2026, please contact the Decatur Arts Alliance as soon as possible.

### Application Requirements

All durable outdoor media are encouraged. Work installation dates will be mid to late October but are subject to change due to artist limitations or unexpected circumstances. **The lease will extend from November 30, 2026 - November 30, 2028.**

## Eligibility & Requirements

- **Geographic Eligibility:** National
- **Disciplines:** sculpture
- **Note:** All artists residing in the United States are eligible to apply. Location Eligibility Type: National. Eligible Applicant Types: Artist. Submission limit: 3 (a separate entry form must be used for each sculpture). The sculpture must be available for the duration of the two-year contract; no maquettes or renderings — only existing and ready-to-install works.

If the submitted work has been selected and confirmed for another exhibition before October 1, 2026, contact the Decatur Arts Alliance as soon as possible.

### Additional Requirements

Up to 5 images of the submitted sculpture per entry form (minimum 1). One $20 fee covers up to three artworks; a separate entry form must be used for each sculpture (max of 3), and the fee for the second and third entries can be waived with a coupon code. No audio or video.

Submissions must be existing, ready-to-install works professionally constructed of durable materials that will withstand the elements.
