## About This Program

> "Color as a conceptual and material force"

Color is coded with history, desire, identity, power, memory, and resistance. Color Effect invites artists to consider color not as decoration, but as a force—one that shapes perception, constructs meaning, and initiates a dialogue. We are seeking ambitious proposals that challenge conventional relationships to color through concept, material, process, and intimate experiences.

Open to painting, installation, sculpture, photography, performance, video, sound, textiles, or interdisciplinary forms. Juried by Rachel Adams, Chief Curator + Director of Programs at Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts.

## Eligibility & Requirements

- **Geographic Eligibility:** International
- **Disciplines:** painting, installation, sculpture, photography, performance, video, sound, textiles, assemblage, functional objects, fashion, craft, multi-media, mixed media
- **Note:** Open to all artists without regional restrictions.

### Additional Requirements

1-9 pieces per artist (max 9 entries). Images as JPGs; video entries as MOV, MP3, MP4 or WMV, max 50MB per file; selected video artists must also send a USB thumb drive.

Entry fee $45 for up to three JPGs, $15 for each additional piece. Online submission only via EntryThingy. Maximum artwork dimension 50 inches including framing; maximum weight 25 pounds; wall work must arrive wired or with secure installation hardware. Artist must include a pre-paid return-shipping label (UPS or FedEx preferred, no USPS).

## Compensation & Benefits

No stipend or prize; sold work splits 60% to the artist / 40% to OCCCA commission.
