# Special AIR program for BOOK project (in Trevelin – Chubut – Argentina)

**Hosted by:** We-Che Art Residency

**Type:** Residency | **Location:** We-Che Art Residency, Trevelin, Chubut, Argentina | **Deadline:** September 30, 2026

## About This Program

> "Book and artist-book projects; connecting to Patagonia as a natural, historical and cultural environment, and a more respectful relationship between Art and Nature"

A special-format residency for artists and writers who intend to complete a book or art-book project from A to Z in one month. Any book-related discipline is welcome — writers and poets, story-tellers, photographers, paper-artists and small format 2D practices (illustration, botanical drawings, natural eco prints, collage & die-cut, watercolor, sketching), graphic-novelists, travel writers. For hand crafted art book projects, the shared work space is set up with a special focus on hand crafting autonomous possibilities (manual tools for special folding, paper and cardboard cutting tools, sewing machine, book-binding press…) and paper-art and drawing facilities.

It is a half self directed half guided residency with a punctual group or individual mentorship when needed. The final book can be digital format, or ready to print pdf, or few exemplar craft edited artbook. We-Che is located on a 2ha slice of landscape crossed by a river, close to the historic village of Trevelin in Patagonia, backing onto a protected natural area of over 250 ha, and encourages artists to connect to Patagonia as a natural historical and cultural environment.
