**Hosted by:** SAIKONEON

**Type:** Residency | **Location:** SAIKONEON, Fujikawaguchiko, Yamanashi, Japan | **Deadline:** October 31, 2026

## About This Program

Artist-in-residence **SAIKONEON** was established in April 2019, aiming to provide a space for research, creation and exchange of knowledge for various artists and designers of various boundaries. **SAIKONEON** is located about two hours away from Tokyo under the magnificent natural environment of Mount Fuji, with a facility on the shores of Lake Saiko in Yamanashi Prefecture.

Since its founding, SAIKONEON has welcomed artists and designers from around the world working across a wide spectrum of media — including painting, photography, film, visual art, writer, dance performance, and installation.

Our residency program accepts applications year-round.

Participants are selected by the residency's curatorial team based not only on professional achievements, but also on their ability to produce compelling and imaginative work — artists whose practice sparks curiosity through originality and personality beyond career status.

Through their stay, we aim to provide artists with opportunities to deepen their creative inquiry, research, and artistic growth, encouraging new discoveries within their practice.

At SAIKONEON, we aspire to be a place known for this shared spirit — “something interesting always happens when you become part of this residency.”
