### Virtual data collection and storytelling workshop for arts nonprofits

The Power of Art: Measuring Impact, Advancing Equity, and Using Data to Strengthen Arts Organizations

October 26, 2026, 12:30p – 2:00p, Zoom

Facilitated by Sally Wasmuth, PhD, OTR and hosted by Indy Arts Council

Arts organizations create powerful changes in people, communities, and society.

This interactive workshop will help participants identify meaningful outcomes of their artistic work, collect and interpret data, and tell compelling stories about impact. Through discussion, hands-on exercises, and real-world examples, participants will learn practical strategies for measuring outcomes related to individual well-being, community connection, organizational culture, and racial equity.

Attendees will leave with tools they can immediately use to strengthen grant applications, communicate value to stakeholders, and advance their mission.

**At the end of this session, participants will be able to:**

- Identify key ways that arts programs can impact individuals, organizations, and communities.
- Describe simple approaches for collecting information about the outcomes of arts and cultural activities.
- Recognize how a racial equity lens can strengthen evaluation and community engagement efforts.
- Use impact data and stories to communicate the value of their work to funders, partners, and community members.
