# Lawrence Art in the Park 2026

## About This Program

Fine-art and fine-craft outdoor juried fair held in South Park, Lawrence, Kansas, September 19–20, 2026 (Saturday 10 am–6 pm, Sunday 10 am–5 pm). A Lawrence tradition dating back to 1964, with over 20,000 visitors expected. Eligible media include painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, photography, mixed media, sculpture, jewelry, fiber arts, glass, metalwork, leather, wood, pastels, and digital art. Work judged on-site by a panel representing local artists and arts organizations; awards given in both 2D and 3D categories based on originality, craftsmanship, imaginative use of materials, and aesthetic quality. All accepted artists invited to display up to two pieces in the Phoenix Gallery sponsored 'Art in the Park Preview Show' with opening reception during Final Friday gallery walk. An Emerging Artist Program is available for artists who have never participated in an established juried fine art fair.

## Eligibility & Requirements

- **Geographic Eligibility:** International
- **Disciplines:** painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, photography, mixed media, sculpture, jewelry, fiber arts, glass, metalwork, leather, wood, digital art
- **Note:** Only originals of fine art and fine craft are eligible and must comprise the majority of work displayed. Reproductions must be signed, numbered, and identified as such. Not eligible: soaps, candles, mass-produced items, copyrighted or trademarked images not owned by the artist, items made from commercial kits or molds. Shared booths are allowed with up to two artists per space. Artists must be present during the entire event and personally staff their booth. Emerging Artist Program (half 10x10 tent, $15 jury fee + $90 booth fee + 10% of sales capped at $200) available for artists who have never participated in an established juried fine art fair; four emerging artists selected and receive free Lawrence Art Guild membership through December 2026.

### Additional Requirements

Submit 5 images: at least one work per medium to be displayed (minimum 4 artwork images), plus one booth setup photo (required). Jury fee: $35.00 (non-refundable). Up to 4 applications may be submitted per artist.
