# Call Out: Plan an event for Refugee Week 2026!

**Hosted by:** Counterpoints Arts / Refugee Week

**Type:** Open call | **Location:** Bishkek, Congo - Kinshasa | **Deadline:** May 31, 2026

## About This Program

> "Courage — celebrating refugee strength, community, and belonging"

In the face of rising hostility and harmful rhetoric towards refugees and migrants, artists, creative practitioners, arts organisations, libraries, archives, and community art groups are invited to stand in solidarity during Refugee Week 2026 (15–21 June). The 2026 theme is Courage — inspired by people seeking sanctuary, exploring the strength it takes to rebuild a life, navigate the unfamiliar and face uncertainty. Participants are invited to commission and platform refugee and migrant artists; host Courage-themed exhibitions, performances, screenings and workshops; work with refugee-led and community organisations; and use platforms to challenge harmful narratives. Refugee Week 2026 marks 75 years since the 1951 Refugee Convention. In 2025, the festival saw 15,000+ activities, 2.3 million attendees, and participation across 20+ countries.
