Both sides of a smile, 2024
Description
32x72 inches 1/1 Digital Painting/College on Acrylic Glass Both Sides of a Smile was installed in room 306 at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto, Ontario Canada from June 2024 to June 2025. The work appears to float off the wall due to a special float mounting on the back of each piece. PolyPro print under 1/4 inch high-quality, shatter-resistant, clear acrylic glass. Custom cut to shape, mounted to custom 10mm trim board backing. Mounting templates and certificate of authenticity included. A signature sticker is placed on the back of the piece. It's more about the ambiguity of expression, how a smile can be read as joy, politeness, discomfort, masking, sarcasm, or even pain. The meaning is created through perception.
