Happy Birthday, 2026
Oil on canvas
Description
A group of people sit closely around a table, sharing drinks and conversation. The composition is tight and intimate creating a sense of connection and ease. Floral patterned silhouettes filter through the narrative. Happy Birthday references a moment of celebration, familial care and joy. Taken from a photograph of my father and his friends in Durban, South Africa.
