Patricia Jung

Patricia Jung is a watercolour and airbrush painter from Toronto, ON. In focusing on watercolour and airbrush techniques specifically, Patricia combines Eastern and Western elements, reflecting her experience as a first generation Chinese-Canadian person, who was raised in Toronto's Chinatown and Kensington Market area. These abstract works are recognized by their cheerful colours, and expressive brush strokes. Painting and creating is a spiritual practice for Patricia, and is integral to her identity. Patricia initially studied and graduated in photography and fine arts at Ontario College of Art & Design in the year of 1989. She has participated in exhibitions in Toronto, New York, and Tokyo, with the goal of promoting Asian culture in a North American environment, specifically to the general public in Canada. Through her art, Patricia spends significant time working and interacting with Toronto's Kensington Market community - having exhibited at the Chinese Presbyterian Church, and having taught painting classes in the neighbourhood. Presently, Patricia is producing works for shows and exhibitions in the coming years. Patricia attends weekly classes at Open Studio, OCADU and ForestHill Arts Club, in support of her artistic career and the ongoing evolution of her practice.
