701 Center for Contemporary Art, also known as 701 CCA, presents contemporary art through changing exhibitions, including a current survey of contemporary metal. It hosts an artist-in-residence program and offers opportunities for artists.
The center also maintains the Mill District Public Art Trail as an ongoing exhibition. It runs opening receptions and other events, and invites the public to become members, volunteer and donate in support of its work.
