The only university dedicated to art, craft and design in Alberta and the Prairies.
Alberta University of the Arts (AUArts) is a university dedicated to art, craft and design, and the only one of its kind in Alberta and the Prairies, one of four in Canada. For almost 100 years it has played an important role in the country's visual culture, offering a wide range of subject areas, small classes and flexible curricula to its students. The university operates the Illingworth Kerr Gallery, presenting exhibitions curated from its community, and supports a broad alumni network of graduates shaping creative culture worldwide. AUArts is situated in Calgary, Alberta, on the ancestral land of the Siksikaitsitapi (Blackfoot Confederacy) and the Iyarhe Nakoda-Stoney, and is also home to the Métis Nation of District 5 and 6.
