Alexa Mazzarello

Alexa Mazzarello is a Canadian artist and photographer whose work explores the physical and emotional realities of birth and the body. Supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, her practice centers on documentary and portrait photography that honors the depth, complexity, and diversity of birth experiences. Her project *Failure to Progress* exemplifies her commitment to making birth visible through intimate, unposed imagery. She works across film and digital photography, with a focus on archival and community-contributed imagery.
