Alpaca is a festival on Algorithmic Patterns in the Creative Arts, made up of live performances, workshops and conference talks. It brings together people who value deep, human curiosity about patterns, from heritage crafts to contemporary algorithmic art.
The festival focuses on three aspects of pattern-making: procedures for making, material behaviours, and pattern-making culture. It welcomes practitioners of pattern-based arts such as weaving, braiding, origami and live or creative coding, and it excludes AI-based work.
