Ano Asites Artists Residency

The Ano Asites Artists Residency is an artist-run rural residency located in the mountain village of Ano Asites, Crete, Greece. It is the sister residency to the Lakkos Artists Residency in Heraklion city, which has been running since 2015. The Ano Asites residency was started in 2019 following a request from local villagers, with the goal of creating an artistic community rooted in the village. Set 24km from Iraklion at 480 metres altitude and surrounded by mountains, the residency draws inspiration from the village's rich history, Byzantine heritage, and striking natural landscape.
