Arts Marketplace is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that creates opportunities and removes barriers for undercapitalized artists, makers and entrepreneurs, including woman and minority owned businesses. Launched in December 2020, it fills a retail space in Downtown Grand Rapids with diverse local makers and offers tenants rent subsidization for the first six months or more to ease start-up costs. The marketplace carries hand-made goods from over 40 local makers, including housewares, jewelry, mind and body products, clothing and cards. It also supports its tenants with programming and ways to engage the community, and it accepts donations and applications from new vendors.
